i let myself die at 10500, the trick is to get the best powerup and then drive to the top of the screen and keep the spacebar down.. You're pretty much invincible.

Wow, for a simple game it is actually pretty fun, too bad there's only 2 powerups. Starts out slow but gets frantic really quick.
