"Besides, several of the Mods are signed in constantly, but not always at the computer, so what good would identifying them do?"
It would let you who's actually a mod, and prevent: "Fuck off, I'm a mod I'll ban your account if you talk again" comments.
Well, Mods don't say those things. If someone is parading around going "I'm a Mod and I'm going to ban you", they aren't a Mod. Report them.
The Mods don't threaten. They will give you a warning, something along the lines of "Let's tone it down". (this will often come up as a green, highlighted message from "Nonoba") If you don't heed their first warning, sometimes they will send a second one, or they will send you to "time-out".
But seriously, next time just take a screen shot and report the user. It's fairly rare, unless there is some serious harassment going on, for an account ban to take place.
Thanks, I'll so that. But wouldn't it still just be easier to have an icon next to a moderators name in chat, or have them have their messages a different color?
Posted 7 weeks agoAgain, though, at the least, one Mod is signed in at any given time. That doesn't mean they are at the computer. And, if their name was to be a different colour, etc, that will just lead to rapid abuse of the Mods.

Honestly, identifying all of the Mods would be counter-productive. The fact that a Mod could always be an a given room is a strong deterrent in and of itself. There is almost always at least one person in any given chat that knows where a Mod is or can contact them. Otherwise, all users have the ability to report a user. Take a screen-shot of the offense, link the Admins to it in your report, and presto!
