I don;t know if you guys have moderators or not cause iv'e never seen one, but the chat needs to be moderated more because there are a lot of spammers than annoy people in the chat.
We do have moderators, but alas, they cannot be everywhere at once.
In the event of a moderator not being immediately available I suggest you screenshot the offense, go to the profile of the user, and click 'report as inappropriate' not forgetting to include the aforementioned screenshot of course =)
But I don't know if iv'e ever seen a mod, and the chat has been getting flooded with users who spam, and are being very rude...i would apply to be a mod but I have no idea how. Iv'e reported so much users for useless spam and crudeness.
There are currently two moderators, The Internet and AmiAthena. However, even if you do see them in the chats, they may not be at their computer, so bear that in mind if they do not respond.
Nonoba does not plan to recruit any more moderators at present, so however good you'd be at it, it will not happen for now.
And in the event of THAT not being enough, there is a more immediate option available to you. Are you aware of the /ignore command in the chat?
(if you are, feel free to ignore the next paragraph)
If you are not, ignoring blocks any messages in the chat from the person you are ignoring. For example, if you were to ignore someone called 'hatorlulz' you would type 'ignore hatorlulz' into the chatbox. And if you want to take them off ignore type 'unignore hatorlulz'
I know of the ignore command, but still they will still bug other people....and the best way would be to keep them off the chat....kongregate has tons of mods and the chat is kept in good shape most of the time(if they mods are not on).
I just dont want people to leave nonoba because of spammers.
I know, but persistant spammers will (I assume, I don't know the exact criteria for this.) be banned pending a review from a moderator/admin.
I take it you are informing the others of the ignore command too?
But really, there's not a lot more I can constructively say on this. If there's a mod around great, they'll be dealt with on the spot. If not, the only option is to ignore and report.
