To be honest I think it's a bad idea. Nonoba is about fun and if bad-words can be enabled (even though it's only a personal setting) nonoba is basicly allowing to cuss.
I'm already annoyed by the cussing there's in the channel nowadays. It ruins the fun for everyone who's chatting there. If people wanna cuss I suggest they do it somewhere else, allowing it would not benefit nonoba.

Having the censor does not keep people from cussing so I see nothing wrong with being able to allow the filter or not

I guess you've got a point there, but perhaps it's better to never see the bad word. So even if I write the F-Word I still see Hug.
Besides I think the alternative words are pretty cool and might turn bad habits into good habits. Imagine yourself screaming: 'what the hug!!!' instead of the original version because you got used to it on nonoba ;)

I think it is a good idea. "Bad words" only become bad in the first place because people use them negatively, when they get censored everyone knows what the censor word stands for so the negativity is still there anyways.
If seeing the actual words reallly bothers you, then this way you could still make it so you would not have to put up with it. It would all be a manner of personal preference.

I think it would be a great idea. Seeing curry and hugging and all those stupid replacements is starting to drive me insane. I come from WoW where anyone can toggle it to see it if they want to.
