Alternatively, if your a student (depending no where you are high school or college is required) you can get the program at a significantly reduced price or if you are a gov't employee you can get it cheap, or a firefighter etecetera...

Government (state and local, and service men and woman in there many forms i.e national guard, police etc) employees can get a discount at most places. It's like an honorary discount I guess you would say.

gimp is a leading free alternative, and paintshop pro latest version is really cheap, and works well too. But they all pale in comparison to CS3 in so many ways.

I do agree personally, but a lot of people prefer free alternatives for some strange reason.

you use it to make graphic elements to include in your games. while it's possible to do this in the flash ide, its easier for some people, and provides a different toolset.

Even better yet, if you download the trial and like the software, do some bargin hunting, save your money, and buy. If you are a student the price is reduced.

Regular price straight from the Adobe website is $700 USD, the education price is $250. Even if you can only save $25 a week you can purchase the education version in 2.5 months or the regular price in 6.5 months. Put more in savings get the product faster.

You could even get a part time job [or second job if already employed] and use the money from that to go directly to purchasing. Even at the minimum wage rate [5.85US$] it'd only take 120 hours of work to get the full version and 43 hours for the education version.

So as you see, it really is not that hard to come by legally. It is better for everyone involved if you don't suggest illegal things, especially in the forum here.
