Vote for Playbar

Hi Guys,

We have the thing at the bottom of the page. It's called the Playbar. Some people like it, some people complain about it.

We're trying to figure out if we should remove it, and have a system like the one on doctorpuzzle.com where it's functionality is contained in the top right.

So i was thinking, a poll might make it easier :-)

I still like the idea of adding more features to the Noba, like mailbox notifications, MP challenge notifications from friends, and user selectable Nobas.

Not that I'm trying to influence the poll >:3

The Nonobar functionality on Dr. Puzzle lacks the biggest reason I like the Nonobar: the quick favorites. It's also nice that you never have to scroll around on a page to find the stuff that's on the Nonobar.

Why not just make it collapsible, similar to what Toby did on Anchman?

Let the user choose - people with decent screen resolutions prefer it for the benefits it offers. People who can't see full games with it just get annoyed. It might require more work but at least it will satisfy everyone. ^_

how about the to that the player choice to hide the playbar that should work for everyone. and also help keeps track of my level and how much to go to the next level.

I agree with kittyent like it should be in settings somewhere.

I'm reluctant to make it a setting: Settings lke that are unused by 95% of the users.

I'd much rather just have the best choice be the default and only choice.

@Oliver, if you detect screen resolution/window dimensions with js you can know when the playbar will be too big for the screen. That way no setting is needed.

Except it'd be an easy answer for the multitude of forum threads "how do I get rid of this bar?". The setting would be used for every user that thought the Nonobar is a problem.

I'm 100% against this. Don't make me fiddle with my screen resolution to enable/disable the Nonobar. Just make it a setting.

Well, if that many users have problems with it and complains, imagine how many users have problems, but just leave instead of complaining. If that's the majority then i'd rather switch for everybody.

That's actually an interresting angle; how many would care enough to want to switch back, if it was made a setting, and the default was the otherway around.

Just have a js slide-in like the loginbox asking which they want, saying they can change from the settings afterward. If that's just too much work then yeah I suppose your way works. Personally I really like some things about the bar but hate others (can't use the middle mouse button for starters). I'd be torn between the two. :D

Another question: which features from the bottom bar should we add to the top right bar?

Well... I like Play Bar, I can go to games faster and easier. Although there should be a option in settings to get rid of it for those who don't like it, but if it's because of the game doesn't fit on your screen...
it's easy just to get rid of the toolbars on top of your page and also try full screen, :3

I think, the option hide userbar/show userbar should be added in settings. Its variants should be added too (e.g. classic nonobar, doctor puzzle bar etc.). But i don't have any problems with this bar (i like it!sometimes XD) and my answer is:

Well, what ever people do, don't remove me from Nonoba or the bottom of people's screen's! I am kind of enjoying it there and it is like, I am the Nonoba Undercover spy! :D

But Spys are secret and sneeky and you are just there, at the bottom of the screen like "HI, i'm a spy! SHUSH"
