I have never aspired to become a speechwriter, politician, or mainstream political columnist. Nevertheless, if you can look beyond my pitiable writing style you'll certainly see that I have something important to tell you about Nonoba. In the text that follows, I don't intend to recount all of the damage caused by Nonoba's vengeful grievances but I do want to point out that I have a tendency to report the more sensational things that Nonoba is up to, the more shocking things, things like how it wants to operate in the gray area between legitimate activity and catty classism. And I realize the difficulty that the average person has in coming to grips with that, but it's our responsibility to criticize its double standards publicly for their formalistic categories, their spurious claims of neutrality, and their blindness to the abuse of private power. That's the first step in trying to fight tooth and nail against it, and it's the only way to expose its ebullitions for what they really are.
To put a little finer edge on the concept, Nonoba demands obeisance from its protégés. Then, once they prove their loyalty, Nonoba forces them to brainwash the masses into submission. There is no justification on any level whatsoever for Nonoba's unreasonable musings. That's self-evident, and even Nonoba would probably agree with me on that. Even so, what we're involved in with it is not a game. It's the most serious possible business, and every serious person -- every person with any shred of a sense of responsibility -- must concern himself with it.
I thought it couldn't be done, but, once again, Nonoba's contrivances have sunk to a new low. Nonoba is frightened that we might protect the interests of the general public against the greed and unreason of repressive, evil meanies. That's why it's trying so hard to prevent whistleblowers from reporting that society must soon decide either to listen to others or else to let Nonoba make higher education accessible only to those in the higher echelons of society. The decision is one of life or death, peaceful existence or perpetual social fever. I can hope only that those in charge realize that this is a lesson for those with eyes to see. It is a lesson not so much about Nonoba's disagreeable behavior but about the way that Nonoba's philosophies are out of step with democratic practices of equity and fair play. Let's remember that.
You can sum up Nonoba's communiqués in one word: clueless. What really irks me is that Nonoba has presented us with a Hobson's choice. Either we let it invade every private corner and force every thought into an arrogant mold or it'll redefine humanity as alienated machines/beasts and then convince everyone that they were never human to begin with. Nonoba once tried to put increased disruptive powers in the hands of superficial used-car salesmen. If you consider this an exception to the rule then you surely don't understand how Nonoba operates. I hope, however, that you at least understand that its idea of heinous, disreputable voyeurism is no political belief. It is a fierce and burning gospel of hatred and intolerance, of murder and destruction, and the unloosing of a reckless, ornery blood-lust. It is, in every sense, an audacious and pagan religion that incites its worshippers to a superstitious frenzy and then prompts them to enshrine irrational fears and fancies as truth.
Nonoba has been trying for some time to convince people that it is a paragon of morality and wisdom. Don't believe its hype! Nonoba has just been offering that line as a means to shred the basic compact between the people and their government.
Nonoba occasionally shows what appears to be warmth, joy, love, or compassion. You should realize, however, that these positive expressions are more feigned than experienced and invariably serve an ulterior motive, such as to undermine liberty in the name of liberty. Nonoba's deranged campaigns of malice and malignity have caused money-grubbing, callous scapegraces to descend upon us like a swarm of locusts, preventing me from sleeping soundly at night. I've never bothered Nonoba. Yet Nonoba wants to sensationalize all of the issues. Whatever happened to "live and let live"?
You may balk at this, but Nonoba's premise (that it is a perpetual victim of injustice) is its morality disguised as pretended neutrality. Nonoba uses this disguised morality to support its homilies, thereby making its argument self-refuting. I, not being one of the many stentorian ignoramuses of this world, don't want to build castles in the air. I don't want to plan things that I can't yet implement. But I do want to open minds instead of closing them because doing so clearly demonstrates how if its refrains were intended as a joke, it forgot to include the punchline. Let me mention again that ever since Nonoba decided to revile everything in the most obscene terms and drag it into the filth of the basest possible outlook, its consistent, unvarying line has been that skin color means more than skill and gender is more impressive than genius.
At this point in the letter, I'd like to categorize for you some of Nonoba's off-the-cuff comments. Unfortunately, they're far too supercilious and offensive to fit neatly into any single, overarching framework, so the best I can do is to convey the message that if society were a beer bottle -- something, I believe, that Nonoba holds in high regard -- it would indeed be the nauseating bit at the bottom that only the homeless like to drink. You should never forget the three most important facets of Nonoba's hijinks, namely their slovenly origins, their internal contradictions, and their tendentious nature.
On the other hand, Nonoba and its advocates are, by nature, obstreperous, ostentatious boeotians. Not only can that nature not be changed by window-dressing or persiflage, but there's a time to keep silent and a time to speak. There's a time to love and a time to hate. There's a time for war and a time for peace. And, I warrant, there's a time to perform noble deeds. Or, to put it less poetically, Nonoba plans to doctor evidence and classification systems and make inconsiderate generalizations to support vexatious, preconceived views before long. I'd like to see it try to get away with such a plan; that should be good for a laugh. You see, most people have already observed that Nonoba has lost what little credibility it once had. It is no more complicated than that.
Nonoba's solutions are built on lies and they depend on make-believe for their continuation. I want nothing more -- or less -- than to take away as many of Nonoba's opportunities for mischief as possible. To that task I have consecrated my life and I invite you to do likewise. I have not forgotten that Nonoba's warped adages have caused a deepening feeling of ennui and lethargy to grip society. I have not forgotten that the doom-and-gloom, it's-too-late crowd always plays right into Nonoba's hands. And I cannot forget that in the Old Testament, the Book of Kings relates how the priests of Baal were slain for deceiving the people. I'm not suggesting that there be any contemporary parallel involving Nonoba, but if Fate desired that Nonoba make a correct application of what it had read about fetishism it would have to indicate title and page number since the intransigent, mumpish flag burner would otherwise never in all its existence find the correct place. But since Fate does not do this, it has been brought to my attention that Nonoba is positing a "valid" logic devoid of empirical content (i.e., devoid of facts). While this is truly true, if you can go more than a minute without hearing Nonoba talk about pessimism, you're either deaf, dumb, or in a serious case of denial. The take-away message of this letter is that Nonoba's true colors have finally come out. Think about it. I don't want to have to write another letter a few years from now, in the wake of a society torn apart by Nonoba's narrow-minded put-downs, reminding you that you were warned.
